About us

We’re proud of the role we play in creating the environment, economy and communities for our districts. Babergh and Mid Suffolk have consistently been voted amongst the top places to live in the UK.

Working together across our Councils and with our partners in the public, private and voluntary sectors, we provide excellent services to our 190,000 residents across Babergh and Mid Suffolk – working hard to provide homes, support our communities, boost local economy, protect our environment and keep our districts clean, tidy and safe.

What we are looking for

We are now looking for a Systems Administrator to join our team in Housing – System Support to maintain accurate and timely updates of technical administration and information for the Councils’ Housing management systems.

We are looking for someone who:

  • Can provide an efficient support service to a busy team through the effective use of housing management software systems, through maintaining updated information on the Authority’s housing assets and rental income.
  • Has the ability to support teams within a large department with a wide variety of needs, alongside developing a comprehensive understanding of certain specialisms within that department where required.
  • Can be relied upon to use your own initiative and suggest process improvements in order to provide a thorough level of support and continue to streamline business practices.
  • Provide proactive day to day system administration support and updates for all users and support projects with systems testing and training where needed.
  • Help to resolve system issues for users, produce reports and ensure that key tasks are completed within deadlines.

You will have strong technical problem solving skills, experience working within a similar role supporting operational system users on the front line and a comprehensive understanding of Microsoft Office packages.

This role is normally based at our modern and conveniently located office accommodation, however, during the COVID 19 pandemic, we have been working from home and it has worked really well for us.*

We are committed to agile and flexible working (subject to business need), with full time, part time or job share opportunities considered.  Supporting equality and diversity, Babergh and Mid Suffolk District Councils provide opportunity and ambition for all, enabling and empowering our people to deliver the best possible results for our residents.

For an informal discussion about this role please call Luke Godley on 01449 724778 or email luke.godley@baberghmidsuffolk.gov.uk
