1 year fixed term contract.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for Domestic Abuse Outreach Worker at Bury St Edmunds Women's Aid Centre.

You will be responsible for providing high quality specialist frontline domestic abuse support to people living in the area. Working with colleagues and other statutory and voluntary agencies you will assist service users to access services to support, keep them safe and rebuild their lives.

You will also be responsible for developing partnerships and relationships with statutory and voluntary agencies, and local and national specialist agencies working within the local community. You will work with those agencies to increase staff awareness and to increase confidence, skills and knowledge in relation to domestic abuse.

This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who are committed to helping survivors to break the cycle of domestic abuse and support their recovery.

We're looking for highly organised and self-motivated applicants who are passionate about supporting victims of domestic abuse.

Ideally, you will have experience of working with domestic abuse victims, along with an in-depth knowledge of its impact on service users and their children. You will have strong casework management skills.

If you don't have direct experience of working in domestic abuse services then you may have previous experience from a role working alongside or in partnership with domestic abuse services or from providing support in a similar setting.

A friendly, flexible 'can do' attitude is essential for this role, which you will use to work within a multi-agency partnership environment to secure the very best outcomes for our service users.

Bury St Edmunds Women's Aid Centre is a small, independent charity that for the past 44 years has worked with people who have been affected by Domestic Abuse.
