Community Action Suffolk is seeking a proactive individual to be our Specialist Development Officer - Community Buildings and VCSE (Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise) Governance.

This role is suitable for an enthusiastic individual with a passion for local communities and the VCSE sector in Suffolk.

As the specialist development officer, you will be providing advice and guidance to those responsible for running village halls and community buildings, helping them to develop their skills and knowledge to effectively manage these valuable local assets that are vital hubs for a range of community activity.

You will also provide support and guidance to VCSE groups across Suffolk to develop their capacity and knowledge around organisational development, such as how they are governed, their policies and procedures and other areas that enable them to be well run legally compliant organisations. This may include supporting new organisations to start up where the need has been identified.

In this role you will encourage and support sustainable development of community buildings and local organisations in meeting the needs of local communities and promote effective communication between the VCSE sector and statutory partners.

You will have a good working knowledge of VCSE sector and, as this role is county wide, you will need to be well organised and able to balance multiple priorities.

We are happy to discuss any reasonable adjustments individuals may require in the recruitment process, or on commencement of post.
