Suffolk Family Carers is an innovative and creative charity, recognised nationally as the overall GSK Impact Award winner 2019. We work in partnership with over 100 organisations to deliver a range of services that impact positively on the lives of adult, young adult and young carers.
This exciting new role will support the delivery of wellbeing programmes and respite activities offered to young people with a caring role aged 14 - 24 years. You will work closely with the Young Carer and Young Adult Carer Advisers to ensure any barriers to attendance are removed.
We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic, self-motivated, creative and has experience of working with young people. Excellent communication skills are essential and proficient use of social media to engage young people is advantageous.
You will seek to develop new relationships with education providers and other local charities to maximise engagement with the wellbeing programmes and to strengthen the peer support available to young adult carers locally.
Many of the workshops that require facilitation will be carried out during evenings so you must be able to work evenings. We envisage that this will be three evening per week, with the remaining hours offered flexibly.
There may be some flexibility around working hours as well as attractive employee benefits. Suffolk Family Carers is located on a rural business park, easily accessible from the A14 and 4 miles from Ipswich.
