East Suffolk Council is an exciting place to work and a great place to make a real difference to people’s lives, delivering vital services to a quarter of a million people across East Suffolk.
We are looking for an exceptional individual to undertake a range of environmental health activities for the Council, including inspections, monitoring, measurement, examinations, Local Air Quality Management, surveillance and sampling in respect of all areas of environmental protection including dealing with noise pollution and pollution to air, land and water to ensure compliance with statutory requirements.
Dealing with the public on a daily basis, sometimes in potentially stressful situations, you will also be required to work outside normal office hours on occasion to meet the demands of the service.
You should as a minimum hold a level 3 qualification in a relevant discipline and be able to show competence and relevant experience in one or more core areas of the job description. We also welcome applications from those with higher level qualifications in a relevant environmental protection related subject. You will be appointed within the above salary range according to qualifications, experience and competence.
In return, we can offer great opportunities for training and development and we’ll give you all the support we can to help advance your career. There’s also a superb benefits package including flexible working options and purpose-built, brand new office accommodation, as well as a generous leave entitlement, discount scheme, pension scheme and free car parking.
