This job represents an exciting opportunity to be part of a team responsible for the collection and expenditure of the Community Infrastructure Fund (CIL) for both Babergh and Mid Suffolk on infrastructure across Central Suffolk.

If appointed, you would be working alongside other officers with a view to recovery of debt associated with non-collection of CIL which ultimately may result in formal action to recover funds following Court action. You will be proactively monitoring development commencement dates and installment payment plans to ensure CIL monies arrive to meet set deadlines; others you will be liaising with on a regular basis are the Councils Shared Legal team together with Parishes about timescales for payment of Neighbourhood CIL payments on debt recovery cases. You will also be advising on the operation of the CIL Regulations with regard to approved development and debt recovery and the formal processes involved when CIL payments are late or not made.

So, if you have real enthusiasm, good IT and financial skills and consider yourself to be productive and enjoy working accurately as part of a team, we would like to hear from you.

This role is normally based at our modern and conveniently located office accommodation, however, during the COVID 19 pandemic, we have been working from home and it has worked really well for us.

We are proud of the role we play in creating the environment, economy and communities for our districts. Babergh and Mid Suffolk have consistently been voted amongst the top places to live in the UK.

Working together across our Councils and with our partners in the public, private and voluntary sectors, we provide excellent services to our 190,000 residents across Babergh and Mid Suffolk – working hard to provide homes, support our communities, boost local economy, protect our environment and keep our districts clean, tidy and safe.

We are committed to agile and flexible working practices (subject to business need), with full time, part time or job share opportunities considered. Supporting equality and diversity, Babergh and Mid Suffolk District Councils provide opportunity and ambition for all, enabling and empowering our people to deliver the best possible results for our residents.

If you would like an informal chat about this post, please contact Christine Thurlow, Professional Lead - Key Sites and Infrastructure on 01449 724525 or Jo Moye, Infrastructure Officer on 01449 724563.
