The role of a firefighter is incredibly rewarding, and it is changing. Not only do firefighters respond to fires and other emergencies, but they work on preventing them happening in the first place through education and safety messaging.
Everyone at Suffolk Fire and Rescue Service prides themselves on putting our community first.
You will spend a lot of time out in the community conducting home safety checks in people’s homes, visiting businesses to improve their fire safety, and talking to people of all ages and different backgrounds about fire prevention, road safety and other safety messages.
The service prides itself in providing first class training and opportunities for career progression. Being a wholetime fighter will provide opportunities to develop your career, whether that is climbing the management ladder or specialising in a area such as prevention or training or developing experience to be the best firefighter you can be.
There are a number of stages to the recruitment process and we recommend that you read the information about this at: https://www.suffolk.gov.uk/suffolk-fire-and-rescue-service/working-for-suffolk-fire-and-rescue/how-to-become-an-wholetime-firefighter/
