East Suffolk Council is an exciting place to work and a great place to make a real difference to people’s lives, delivering vital services to a quarter of a million people across East Suffolk.
We are seeking an enthusiastic Health and Safety Advisor with recognised health and safety qualifications, some knowledge of estates management, and full UK driving licence.
You must be a good team player with effective communication and influencing skills alongside a sound technical knowledge. You will be an integral part of the Council’s Corporate Health and Safety Team whilst primarily working with the operations service area in relation to estates and waste management.
Working closely with managers, supervisors and staffs, you will promote a safe working environment by educating and advising the organisation on changes to legislation and areas of best practice.
A desire for continual improvement is essential as you will be expected to develop, maintain and review health and safety policies, safe systems of work, procedures and guidance and be responsible for investigating and reporting work related incidents.
In return, we can offer great opportunities for training and development. We want you to stay with us for the long-term, so we will give you all the support we can to build a great career with our organisation. There is also a superb benefits package including flexible working options and purpose-built, brand new office accommodation, as well as a generous leave entitlement, discount scheme, pension scheme and free car parking.
