Full or part time hours available, from 18.5 - 37 hpw, term time working available.

We are currently recruiting for motivated and enthusiastic School Nurses to join our School Nursing Service in Suffolk.

This is an extremely exciting time to join School Nursing in Suffolk, as we have invested heavily in our school nursing provision, increasing our staffing capacity to deliver the Healthy Child Programme. This additional resource will enable early identification of the needs of children and young people aged 5 - 19, within and outside of a school setting. We provide an enhanced offer to children and young people who are vulnerable, including those with Special Educational Needs and disabilities.

Each senior school in the county has a named nurse within School Nursing, providing support to their children and young people. You will work with children and young people, individually and in groups, to promote healthy lifestyles and resilience and improve public health outcomes.

This is a fantastic opportunity to enhance your leadership and management skills, whilst being at the forefront of developing and implementing services centered around Children and Young People.

You will:

    • have a key role in delivering the Healthy Child Programme
    • support health needs of school age children and their families through a Public Health approach
    • promote health and well-being to ensure each child and young person is supported to reach their potential
    • deliver meaningful support to children and young people to achieve positive outcomes.

It is essential that you hold a public health nurse qualification in School Nursing (SCPHN) or a Health Visiting qualification, with evidence of completing the migratory portfolio to School Nursing.

We offer an attractive employment package, ideal for keeping a healthy work-life balance, including:

    • Monday - Friday working
    • flexible hours
    • part time hours
    • commitment to offering training and professional development opportunities.

For an informal discussion only please contact Tara Saunders on 07415 799474.

This organisation positively encourages the use of technology to communicate and engage, but in this role you will need to operate across a wide and rural area, so you must either hold a full and current driving licence and have access to personal transport or meet the mobility requirements of the role through other reasonable and suitable means.

Please specify on your application form the hours and location you are applying for, see the Job and Person Profile for further details.

This authority is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. DBS checks or police vetting will be required for relevant posts. We are also committed to flexible working.
