Fixed Term Contract for two years.

We are looking for an exceptional person to join our Management Team in Housing Solutions, leading the very successful Central Suffolk Lettings and our Business Support Team.  You will need to share our values, commitment, and motivation to make a difference for our districts.

The Central Suffolk Lettings (CSL) Team is dedicated to improving our residents’ access to suitable and affordable accommodation within the Private Rented Sector and the Business Support Team underpin our service, they need a dynamic and experienced Team Manager to guide them in their work.

Do you have a knowledge of homelessness and private sector housing? Have you managed a busy team? Do you strive to seek out new and innovative ways to work more efficiently and are you keen to build new business ventures?

Babergh and Mid Suffolk Councils provide housing solutions to households who find themselves homeless and in crisis. The successful applicant will be able to evidence understanding, empathy and discretion towards people facing personal difficulties and the use of skill and judgement to manage their team when faced with difficult situations.

We are looking for an individual who can take responsibility for building the infrastructure and delivering an efficient private sector offer while supporting the Team.

You will need a working knowledge of the private rented sector, experience of managing a busy team and to understand the expected requirements for the discharge of homelessness duties into the private rented sector to be compliant with legislation.

You will manage a small team but in the wider context of Housing Solutions, key relationships are with other members of the housing team.

We require you to have relevant knowledge gained through significant experience of working in a private sector, homelessness, or housing related field.

As part of the Housing Solutions Management Team you will work collectively to develop and continually improve the whole Housing Solutions Service, including performance and risk management, budget setting / monitoring and service delivery planning. 

Access to a car with a current driving licence is essential.

This role is normally based at our modern and conveniently located office accommodation, however, during the COVID 19 pandemic, we have been working from home and it has worked really well for us.*
