The SEND Family Services team leads on all aspects of our family facing work and supports individual children and young people with SEND and their families throughout their SEND journey. This includes securing the right education offer to support their specific needs and ensuring regular and effective review of their progress, holding providers to account across the system for meeting the needs of individual children and young people. This team includes practitioners from a range of backgrounds who provide a wealth of knowledge and experience and support partnerships across the education, health, and care system.

As a Lead Family Services Co-ordinator, you will line manage a team of Coordinators, Assistant Coordinators and Business Support Officers and together, you will ensure:

  • education health and care assessments and annual reviews are completed within statutory timescales
  • families are provided with support and guidance when their children are at risk of, or permanently excluded from, an education setting
  • education settings receive support and guidance on inclusion and SEND for individual pupils
  • there is attendance from the local authority at SEND mediation meetings or appeals hearings with young people and families.

We are looking for an individual who will demonstrate key-working approaches in their everyday practice with families and who can foster positive relationships with a broad range of professionals.

This organisation positively encourages the use of technology to communicate and engage, but in this role you will need to operate across a wide and rural area, so you must either hold a full and current driving licence and have access to personal transport or meet the mobility requirements of the role through other reasonable and suitable means.
