The role is based in Bury St Edmunds and sometimes our offices in Mildenhall but will include travel across West Suffolk.

West Suffolk Council has a strong reputation for forward-thinking and innovation and is currently undertaking an ambitious investment and development programme to support economic and housing growth in the area, as well as actively pursuing opportunities to generate revenue to support the delivery of services.

We are seeking an ambitious, enthusiastic and self-driven RICS qualified Surveyor to take a leading role in a multi-disciplinary team, identifying strategic growth opportunities, appraising and bringing forward development across a highly diverse variety of land and property types.

You will be joining a high-profile, collaborative, outward-facing team and therefore the ability to build effective working relationships and excellent communication skills are essential. A strong political intelligence and an understanding of the dynamic between public and private sectors are also key requirements of the role. Personality, team fit, and drive are as important as experience, hence we will consider applications from newly qualified through to highly experienced property professionals.

There has never been a more interesting and challenging time to be in local government and this role is a great opportunity to work in a high profile, leading edge team for an ambitious and collaborative council.

If you have a strong drive to use your professional skills, knowledge and experience to deliver successful and innovative solutions for a forward-thinking public sector organisation and its partners for the benefit of the people, visitors and businesses of West Suffolk, then we look forward to hearing from you.

* plus essential car user allowance and excellent pension scheme.
