East Suffolk Council is an exciting place to work and a great place to make a real difference to people’s lives, delivering vital services to a quarter of a million people across East Suffolk.

We are currently looking for an enthusiastic Project Officer to manage projects within the North Lowestoft Heritage Action Zone (HAZ) programme. The HAZ Delivery Plan aims to kick-start heritage-led regeneration and stimulate sustainable economic growth in Lowestoft by bringing projects to life such as bringing neglected buildings back into use as housing or retail spaces.

You must be passionate about heritage and willing to champion its value to a wide range of audiences. You will work with stakeholders, partners and colleagues to ensure the successful delivery of the projects within the programme, ensuring they are delivered within the agreed scope, timescales, budget and agreed success criteria.

You will have proven programme and project management experience, as well as a good understanding of the heritage, conservation and regeneration agenda.  Excellent interpersonal and creative problem-solving skills will be essential, as well as the ability to perform at a high level whilst under pressure. It will also be necessary to have a degree level qualification, or equivalent, in a related discipline.

In return, we can offer great opportunities for training and development and we’ll give you all the support we can to build a great career with our organisation. There’s also a superb benefits package including flexible working options and purpose-built, brand new office accommodation, as well as a generous leave entitlement, discount scheme, pension scheme and free car parking.

Due to the current situation with Covid-19, the majority of our teams are working from home and there is strict social distancing measures in place for the limited number of staff working from our offices. If you wish to discuss how that might impact your working arrangements if you were the successful candidate, please contact the recruiting manager listed at the bottom of this advert.

Please read the job description and person specification before applying for this job.
