Do you want to work in a brand new £32 million state of the art Sixth Form College in the heart of Bury St Edmunds alongside our hugely talented students and advise them on their progression to HE or employment? If so, an exciting opportunity has arisen to co-ordinate and deliver careers and guidance services across Abbeygate Sixth Form College. This is a unique opportunity to work closely advising our students on the range of options they have once they have successfully completed their A Level studies. Your role is critical to us and the influence you have is significant in shaping the lives of our students
You will develop and promote a strong careers programme, in line with the Gatsby benchmarks and Careers framework, which provides excellent personal guidance to students (through 1:1s, group sessions and presentations as appropriate), guides students through the UCAS application process and supports our curriculum areas to embed careers across college.
Abbeygate Sixth Form College is part of the Suffolk Academies Trust, working closely with One Sixth Form College and West Suffolk College. Abbeygate opened in 2019, with a Year 12 cohort only; in September 2020 we moved into our brand new state of the art building, accommodating both Year 12 and 13. We offer a broad and balanced A Level curriculum, with a wide range of activities and opportunities to enrich and extend students’ experience to develop well-rounded individuals with the essential skills required for their future studies and careers.
