The Special Educational Needs and Academies Trust (SENDAT) is a Multi Academy Trust focusing on specialist provision and special schools. Its core aim is to provide for the continuum of special needs across the Eastern region. All SENDAT schools and alternate provisions have Trauma Informed practices embedded across the curriculum and SENDAT staff colleagues are given training and support to develop and use these skills in their day-to-day working.

An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a Special Teaching Assistant (STA) to join Mulberry, a joint project between SENDAT and John Milton Academy Trust for two new pieces of provision:

  • KS2 group – linked to Mendlesham Primary School
  • KS3-4 group – linked to Stowupland High School

You will work as part of a close-knit and supportive SENDAT team to provide a safe and secure educational and caring environment for students with moderate learning difficulties.

You will help ensure that they receive specialist teaching and support tailored which meets their individual needs and facilitates their academic progress and personal development, by supporting students in the Mulberry class and, if required, in their lessons in the host school.

As a SENDAT employee, you will play a key role in the start-up and development of these ambitious new provisions, and be instrumental in providing a real, positive impact on the educational and life outcomes for students with SEND.

Further information about the provision at: https://sendat.academy/mulberry/

You will also have access to:

  • a wide range of CPD opportunities
  • a range of employee benefits including pension, Health Care benefits and Cycle2Work scheme;
  • a supportive working environment.
