The Special Educational Needs and Academies Trust (SENDAT) is a Multi Academy Trust focusing on specialist provision and special schools. Its core aim is to provide for the continuum of special needs across the Eastern region. All SENDAT schools and alternate provisions have Trauma Informed practices embedded across the curriculum and SENDAT staff colleagues are given training and support to develop and use these skills in their day-to-day working.

An exciting new opportunity has arisen for a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join the Learning Support team at Priory School. You will support teaching and learning, working independently with whole classes, small groups and one-to-one as required. This is a challenging role, but incredibly rewarding as part of a team which works together to make a real positive difference to the lives of our children with SEND.

As part of the SENDAT, we offer:

  • a wide range of CPD opportunities
  • opportunities for flexible working
  • a range of employee benefits including Healthcare and Cycle2Work scheme
  • a supportive and friendly working environment.

To request an application pack, please contact Joy Kent on (01284) 717874 or email: hr@sendat.academy Alternatively, you can download a pack directly from the SENDAT website: https://sendat.academy/work-for-sendat/

If you would like an informal chat before submitting your application, you are welcome to contact Mrs Sharron White, Senior Assistant Headteacher at Priory School on: sharron.white@priory.sendat.academy to arrange a telephone call.

Completed applications should be returned to Joy Kent, either by email: hr@sendat.academy or by post to: SENDAT, Ask House, 2 Northgate Avenue, Bury St Edmunds IP32 6BB

We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expect all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. DBS checks required for relevant posts.

SENDAT – welcoming diversity.
