  • 31.5 hpw, 39 weeks per year.

Monday – Friday, 8.45am – 3.15pm, plus 1 hour for mandatory staff training each week (Monday 3.15pm – 4.15pm) and half hour each week for class team meeting (Thursday 3.15pm – 3.45pm).

We are looking to appoint three Teaching Assistants to work in our provisions for pupils with more challenging behaviours.

We have an approach based upon SCERTS that uses a therapeutic approach to teaching children to self-regulate themselves. Pupils can display significant levels of challenging behaviour and we use a very intensive support programme to develop alternative communication strategies to reduce those behaviours that restrict their social interaction. As part of a team, you will need to be enthusiastic, creative as well as resilient with a significant sense of fun.  Play is an important part of the therapeutic approach.

For an informal conversation, please contact Niki Griss, HR Officer, at the school on (01284) 764280.

Please visit the Riverwalk website: www.riverwalk.org.uk for more information and follow the links for access to our Application Form, Job Description and Privacy Notice concerning Job Applicants.

Alternatively, an application pack can be downloaded from the related information section.

Interview date: 24 March 2021 (lockdown restrictions permitting) – candidates need to be available all day.

If applicants have not heard from the school by 17 March 2021, they should assume that they have been unsuccessful on this occasion.
