Countywide Activity Group, Children and Young People's Services.
Recruiting countywide in Lowestoft, Bury St Edmunds and Ipswich areas.
Working as and when required, on both weekdays and evenings and weekends.

In this role you will supervise, support and encourage children and young people on the edge of care through achievement based activities in either your particular area of Suffolk or with a focus in either the Lowestoft, Bury St Edmunds or Ipswich area.

Your role will involve:

  • working directly with children and young people who are on the edge of care
  • supervising children and young people during achievement based activities throughout the county
  • identifying risk and safeguarding concerns and escalate immediately where appropriate
  • promoting healthy and safe lifestyle choices
  • providing emergency supervision when required.

If you are currently studying towards a qualification within social care and would like employment relevant to your chosen field of study, or you have you previously worked with children and/or young adults and would like to use your skills and knowledge to make a difference in the community, then this is the role for you.

This a rewarding opportunity to really make a difference to children and young people at a crucial time in their lives. It is essential that you possess effective communication skills, the ability to remain calm in challenging situations and a patient and caring manner.

This role requires frequent travel to rural areas across the county, so you must hold a valid driving licence and have access to a vehicle.
