Fixed Term / secondment opportunity until 31 March 2022.

We have a unique opportunity for you to join the Youth Justice Team and champion the highest professional standards, as you take up this key role in the operational delivery of multi-agency teams and / or delivering specialist programmes and projects that address offending by children and young people.

The Suffolk Youth Offending Service (SYOS) works with children and young people who are in, or on the edge of the Youth Justice System. The service also works with parents, carers and the victims of youth crime. SYOS is a multi-agency partnership hosted by Suffolk County Council. The aim is to prevent offending by children and young people, and protect the public from harm caused by their offending. At the same time the service works to ensure the safety and wellbeing of these children and young people and to enhance their life aspirations and opportunities.

You will need to be an enthusiastic individual who has management experience in the criminal justice or social sectors and is committed to making a difference.

You will be part of a small and supportive management team, where your innovation and creative skills are encouraged and will have opportunities to develop your professional skills.

Experience of working in a multi-agency setting would be an advantage.

This organisation positively encourages the use of technology to communicate and engage, but in this role you will need to operate across a wide and rural area, so you must either hold a full and current driving licence and have access to personal transport or meet the mobility requirements of the role through other reasonable and suitable means.

For an informal discussion please contact Jen Meade on 07793 658720.

If you are considering applying for a secondment, please read the secondment policy and ensure you have sought permission to apply before completing your application.

Please read the Job and Person Profile before applying for this job.

Interviews: 9 April 2020

Please note: this role is being advertised in parallel with the Flexible Resourcing Process, therefore any Redeployment Candidates that do apply will take priority.

This authority is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. DBS checks or police vetting will be required for relevant posts. We are also committed to flexible working.  For the types of flexible or part time working available for specific roles, please see the Job and Person Profile.
