* includes 15%, £3,051.60 pro rata unsocial hours payment. Please also note that in addition to your salary you will also receive payment at minimum wage for any sleep in duties performed as part of your rota.
We are currently looking for a Youth Support Practitioner for our Children’s Home in Stowmarket.

You will be:
- self-driven, flexible and emotionally resilient person who will bring their personality, skills, and experience to help our children and young people develop, grow and have fulfilling lives
- an integral part of a team that ensures every child and young person who walks through our doors feels welcome, cared for, safe and happy.
Our residential homes are open 365 days per year, therefore, you will be required to work as part of a rota which consists of nights (sleep-in), evenings, weekends and bank holidays.

It is desirable that you have a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Child Care, however if this is not the case, Suffolk County Council are committed to developing the skills of its staff and will offer full support and training for you to achieve this industry recognised qualification.
This organisation positively encourages the use of technology to communicate and engage, but in this role, you will need to operate across a wide and rural area, so you must either hold a full and current driving licence and have access to personal transport or meet the mobility requirements of the role through other reasonable and suitable means.
