Do you have what it takes to be a Support Worker for a care service rated ‘Outstanding’?

Papworth Trust are looking for new Support Workers to join our CQC rated ‘Outstanding’ team to remove barriers for people with learning disabilities and autism, and allow people to live the lives they choose.

Our team is growing as we support two new customers transitioning into their new homes and new lives. Whether it’s a visit to the pub, cycling around Alton Water, going to the cinema, swimming, a meal out, shopping, walking along the prom at Felixstowe, a drive in the country or going on holiday.

Every day in this job is different and we are committed to creating a world where disabled people are seen for who they are. We will provide training to support you with working 1-to-1 with customers, ensuring all their needs are met and the highest level of care is given. Your day-to-day duties may include; personal care, administering medication, preparing meals and supporting people with daily housekeeping responsibilities.

Supported Living experience is not required. If you’re caring, resilient and passionate our training and extensive induction will provide you with the practical skills to help you on your way. This role can and will be challenging, successful applicants will not be fazed by challenges. A full driving licence is required to support people in their own cars.

We offer a range of hours and shifts over a 24/7 rota. Usual shift patterns are 7am to 2.30pm and 2.30pm to 10pm. We can offer contracts between 22.5 to 37.5 hours per week.

“I have worked at Papworth Trust for five years and no two days are the same! Some days you will be providing support with day-to-day living in the community and on others you will be part of a customer’s journey. I recently returned from taking a customer to Dublin for a week! Some customers have behaviours that challenge but we receive training on how to deal with these situations. If you can work as part of a team and want to make a difference then come and join us!”

Salary and benefits:

  • £9.00 - £9.50 an hour
  • Holiday pay
  • Extensive training
  • Contributory Pension
  • Childcare Vouchers
