Central IDT (Integrated Delivery Team), Mental Health Service, Adult and Community Services.

This is an exciting opportunity for you to lead our well-established Mental health team, and to play a key role in the development and delivery of a specialist service area and as a part of the wider Mental Health and Learning Disabilities and Autism Service.

You will have a genuine commitment to collaborative working with partners across the system and be passionate about finding and embracing new and innovative ways of working to deliver better outcomes for the people of Suffolk.

Working alongside your colleagues, you will manage demand and contribute to the effective leadership of mental health services, supporting the management team in delivering a culture where Mental Health is understood and valued at all levels.

The team

In our Central Suffolk IDT (Integrated Delivery Team), we are responsible for the coordinated delivery of community mental health services in our locality. This includes support for children and their families, adolescents, working age and older adults, and individuals with a learning disability.

We provide clinical interventions to address complex mental health needs, as well as certain specialist difficulties such as ADHD and autism. We have a range of qualified and experienced professionals in a multi-disciplinary team.​

This involves managing referrals coming in from GPs, the Access and Assessment team and other professional agencies, to then arrange care packages and establish care plans.

The service

Mental Health service provision in Suffolk is currently going through substantial transformation and we would like you to join us in our improvement journey. We have a new Mental Health strategy that has been co-produced with partners and service users and an unwavering commitment to improve services for the better.

Partnership working is strong and there is an appetite to build on our strengths and move the service towards innovative and reflective practice. Staff will be supported through a reinvigorated Section 75 agreement, and a network of partnership support.

There will be opportunities to develop a reflective and learning culture, where best practice is celebrated through an academy approach, working with Principal Social Work colleagues and the local university. In all cases, there will be a full package of induction, support and development that will be tailored to meet your needs.

This organisation positively encourages the use of technology to communicate and engage, but in this role you will need to operate across a wide and rural area, so you must either hold a full and current driving licence and have access to personal transport or meet the mobility requirements of the role through other reasonable and suitable means
