Your Role

The difference you make will be to the lives of adults and older people aged 18 and over and their carers; including those with physical disabilities, learning disabilities sensory impairment, dementia and related mental health needs and other adults with care and support needs at risk of harm or neglect, who are unable to protect themselves.

This will involve you principally working with complex and challenging cases and working with our strengths-based and solution-focused approach, focusing on proactive, preventative and personalised actions that promote people’s well-being and independence. This approach is called Supporting Lives, Connecting Communities (SLCC), which is a three-tier framework to working with adults with care and support needs, carers and families that consider strengths based and personalised solutions to enable individuals meet their aspirations through the care and support planning process.

In your role, you will enjoy the opportunities that our new service can offer, working closely with colleagues in ACS and teams across Health and Social Care including NSFT (Norfolk and Suffolk Foundation Trust), CYP (Children and Young People's Services).

To be successful in this role, you will need a strong mix of knowledge and skills and a good level of resilience.

Adult Social Work is challenging, but will be continue to be fascinating, never dull and very rewarding.

The Service

ACS supports people to achieve the outcomes that matter to them in their lives, promoting their wellbeing and independence through both statutory and non-statutory interventions and preventing or reducing their need for reliance on others.

The Learning Disabilities and Autism Teams within ACS, work to four areas covering the county of Suffolk, in the North, East, South and West along with the Complex Case Team and Review and Audit Team; each that are located in offices based in the main postal towns.

A relevant Social Work qualification and HCPC registration is essential, along with evidence of continued professional development.

You will be required to travel frequently in rural areas, so you must hold a full driving licence and have access to personal transport.
