Location: Working within set geographical areas within the district, with Council offices at Long Stratton, NR15 2XE and Norwich, NR7 0DU

Other: Normal hours of work will be Monday to Friday 14:00 to 22:00

What you could be part of…

Due to the expansion of our Community Connector scheme we are looking for an enthusiastic and self-motivated individual to take on this rewarding role. We are looking for a Community Connector to join our existing team, working to bridge the gap between residents, community groups, the voluntary sector and statutory agencies. The objective is to encourage local people of all ages to identify and access support earlier than they currently might.

What you’ll be doing…

  • You will offer support and advice, gain the trust and confidence of individuals and families and provide practical assistance to ensure people can access the right local services at the earliest opportunity.
  • Working within set geographical boundaries within the district.
  • Providing our Social Prescribing service.
  • Based for part of your week in local GPs surgeries you will be assisting people referred by health professionals with a variety of non-medical needs who may benefit from interventions within the Early Help framework.
  • Bringing the service to residents on an extended hours basis.


You must have…

Experience of supporting individuals and / or families on a 1:1 basis, as well as a knowledge of how to locate and access services in Norfolk. You should have, also, an ability to maintain effective and collaborative working relationships with customers, peers, colleagues and other professionals.
