Role Snapshot… South Norfolk and Broadland Councils have relaunched their popular Kids Camp and are on the lookout for new team members. If you’re outgoing, energetic, and have a passion for helping young people develop their cognitive skills, confidence, health, and wellbeing whilst having fun, then read on!

What you’ll be doing…
- Understand and maintain Ofsted requirements / standards.
- Focus on the children at all times. Ensure that all leaders welcome and get to know the children, ensuring that their enjoyment is your prime concern. Care for and encourage children, integrating nervous children.
- Ensure the Health and Safety of children at all times. Being fully aware of Kids Camp policies and procedures.
- Maintain interest throughout each session, ensuring that each child is able to participate, giving regard to age and preferences.
- Ensure any safeguarding concerns are dealt with appropriately and reported to the designated safeguarding officer.
You must have…
- Minimum level 2 qualification in a relevant area of work as set out in the National Qualifications Framework (desirable)
- Sports Coaching Qualification Level 1 (various sports) (desirable)
- First Aid Qualification or willing to undertake
- Experience of working with a wide range of children and young people in a play work setting (voluntary or paid) (desirable)
- Experience of working with children with SEND (desirable)
- Experience working with the public and a friendly and approachable manner
- An awareness of child development and children’s rights (desirable)
- Excellent interpersonal skills, able to relate well to children/young people and adults
- Ability to be innovative in organising activities
- A sound knowledge of the health and safety policy and procedures
- Ability to manage workload and use own initiative
- Ability to work effectively within a small team
- An understanding of the principles of play and the role of adults (desirable)
- Awareness of the importance of working within an equal opportunities framework (desirable)
- Over 86% of the roles time will be spent on external communication
